EXPERT ADVICE
A hydrafacial is a medical grade, non invasive skin rejuvenation treatment.
It consists of a 3 step approach of deep cleansing, exfoliating and hydrating in conjunction with cosmeceuticals “active ingredients” to improve skin concerns and aid in overall skin health. Simply put- it has the benefits of 6 facials in 1.
No – there is no recovery time and the Hydrafacial is about 45mins so can be done during your lunch break.
Aftercare Advice
-some clients skin might appear slightly red or flushed post treatment. This is natural erythema and is a normal effect of the treatment.
-No makeup is advised post treatment for the rest of the day to maximise the effects of the treatment but mineral make can be used.
-no gym/steam room or sauna or swimming after treatment but activities can resume the next day.
-no further active ingredients like glycolic acid cleansers to be used for 48-72hrs post treatment.
No. Hydrafacial treatment is a non-invasive treatment, this means that the skin is no punctured and isn’t reliant on the skin healing/repairing following intentional skin damage. Hydrafacials are therefore suitable for all skin types and colours.
The best results can be gained by attending regular Hydrafacial sessions every 6-8 weeks. However, many of our clients attend 3-4 times a year and still see fantastic results. You should be able to see immediate results following your first session.
You should avoid the sun after a hydrafacial treatment as your skin is more exposed and likely to damage immediately following the treatment.
Maintaining a positive skincare regime is all that is required to lengthen the results of your Hydrafacial. Recommended steps include staying hydrated regularly and using a high-quality moisturiser and serum.
Only wash your face the next morning after your treatment with a PCA Facial Wash or Hydropeptide Exfoliating Cleanser. Certain OTC facial washes can cause damage to your skin after a Hydrafacial. Speak to your practitioner who will advise you of the best aftercare.
As HydraFacials attacks dead skin cells which can mix with sebum to produce an inflamed blemish they are a good preventative measure against acne. Also, it’s able to break up hyperpigmentation and smooth scars that are left once pimples have healed.
