This form of injection therapy is a non-surgical and safe treatment option for both females and males with hair loss. With Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) blood is taken from the individuals arm and then span in a centrifuge. The spinning motion separates the blood into different sections.
The section we call PRP contains special cells called Platelets, that will promote growth of the hair follicles by stimulating the stem cells in the microenvironment of the hair follicle. These special Platelet cells encourage healing, accelerate the rate and degree of tissue healing and regeneration, improve response to injury and formation of new cellular growth. The PRP is what it is reinjected into the treatment area.
The main reason for using PRP in hair restoration is to stimulate inactive or newly implanted hair follicles into an active growth phase. PRP treatment in hair restoration is an evidence-based procedure supported by dramatic results in clinical research.
PRP hair loss therapy takes part in three stages, with most patients require between three and four treatments that must be taken after a break of 4-6 weeks. Most patients will also need to have maintenance treatments.
The PRP hair treatment process is carried out as follows;
Blood is drawn – usually from the patient’s arm – and placed into a centrifuge, which spins the blood at a rapid pace to separate the blood into sections.
Around 10 minutes later, the centrifuge will have done its job and the patient’s blood will have been separated into three unique layers:
Now, one of our medical professionals will inject the platelet-rich plasma carefully into the parts of the scalp which require treatment.
Like any hair loss treatment, the results of PRP hair loss therapy can vary from person to person. However, many individuals who have had the therapy have noticed a significant reduction in hair loss. They have also found that the width of hair follicles has significantly improved and that hair density is vastly improved, resulting in a thicker, fuller head of hair.
