What are Skin Peel Treatments?

Skin peel treatments, also known as facial peels, are advanced skincare procedures designed to improve the appearance and texture of the skin. These treatments involve applying a solution to the skin, which causes the outer layers to exfoliate and eventually peel off. This process reveals new, regenerated skin that is typically smoother, less wrinkled, and more even in color.

At House of Aesthetics, we offer both chemical and natural peels to cater to a variety of skin types and concerns.

Skin Peel Treatment Types

When choosing a peel treatment, it’s important to understand the differences between chemical and natural peels. Both types of peels are effective for improving the appearance and texture of your skin, but they work in different ways and are suited to different skin types and concerns.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels use various acid solutions to exfoliate the skin. These acids work by breaking down the bonds between dead skin cells, allowing them to be removed and revealing fresh, new skin underneath.

  • Superficial Peels: Use mild acids like alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) to gently exfoliate the outer layer of the skin. Suitable for all skin types with minimal downtime.
  • Medium to Deep Depth Peels: Use stronger acids such as glycolic acid or trichloroacetic acid (TCA) to reach the middle layers of the skin. Effective for treating wrinkles, acne scars, and uneven skin tone.

Natural Peels

Natural peels are skincare treatments that utilize plant-based ingredients and natural enzymes to exfoliate the skin. Unlike chemical peels, which use acids to remove dead skin cells, natural peels rely on the gentle yet effective properties of natural compounds to promote skin regeneration and improve overall skin health.

  • Green Peel: This natural peel is known worldwide for its non-invasive skin rejuvenation results. A popular natural peel that uses a blend of herbs and plant extracts to stimulate skin regeneration without chemicals.
  • Fire & Ice Facial: The IS Clinical Fire & Ice Facial is an intensive clinical treatment that combines glycolic acid with retinol to resurface the skin, treat problematic areas, reduce fine lines, smooth texture, and encourage cellular renewal. Safe for pregnant and breastfeeding patients, this facial is perfect for those looking to achieve refined skin texture and an improved appearance of blemishes and fine lines.

Difference Between Chemical and Natural Skin Peel Treatments

When it comes to enhancing your skin’s appearance and texture, both natural and chemical skin peels are effective treatments. However, understanding the differences between these two types of skin peels can help you choose the best option for your skin type and concerns.
At House of Aesthetics, our experienced practitioners can help you determine the best type of peel for your skin type and concerns.

Green Peel

GREEN PEEL® is known worldwide for its non-invasive skin rejuvenation results. The treatment involves a 5-day programme involving the first day in the clinic followed by 3 days homecare and the final day back at the clinic for a follow-up treatment. It helps increase blood circulation to encourage a faster metabolism and collagen production. This helps result in the outer layers of the skin peeling away to make way for newer, more youthful skin.

Importantly, this peel treatment doesn’t use any chemicals. Instead, it is a compound of herbs, whose micro-particles polish the upper layer of the skin. After 3-4 days, the upper layer of skin peels away, and follow-up treatment is applied at the clinic, leaving the new skin fresher, firmer, and with no redness.
