Body Skin Treatments Guide

Most of us spend far more time thinking about our faces than our bodies, yet skin on the back, chest, arms and abdomen faces many of the same concerns: congestion, dullness, uneven texture, and a gradual loss of firmness. The back in particular is an area people often neglect simply because it’s hard to reach and even harder to see.

At House of Aesthetics, we offer three distinct body treatments, each suited to a different concern. This guide walks through what each one does, how they differ, and how to work out which fits your skin best.

Why Body Skin Deserves Its Own Treatment Plan

Body skin isn’t simply thicker facial skin. The back carries a high concentration of sebaceous glands, which is why it’s one of the most common sites for congestion and breakouts. Elsewhere on the body, skin laxity, stretch marks and dullness tend to build up gradually, often going unaddressed simply because they’re out of daily sight.

That’s why we offer body-specific versions of three of our most requested treatments, each targeting a different layer or concern.

Green Peel for the Back

Green Peel is a herbal peeling treatment developed by Dr Christine Schrammek. Unlike chemical peels, it uses a compound of crushed herbs rather than synthetic acids to polish away the upper layer of skin and stimulate natural cell renewal.

On the back, this makes it a good option for anyone dealing with congestion, textural roughness, or the after-effects of body acne. The treatment follows the same five-day programme used on the face: an in-clinic application, three days of homecare, and a follow-up session in clinic. Around three to four days after treatment, the upper layer of skin peels away, revealing fresher, smoother skin underneath.

Best suited to: congested or textured back skin, dullness, and those who prefer a chemical-free exfoliation method.

Read more about how the process works in our Green Peel benefits and results guide.

HydraFacial Body

HydraFacial uses patented Vortex-Fusion technology to cleanse, exfoliate, extract and hydrate the skin in a single session. On the body, the same multi-step process, hydradermabrasion, gentle acid exfoliation, extractions and an infusion of antioxidants and hyaluronic acid, is adapted to treat larger areas such as the back, chest, arms or décolletage.

Because it combines exfoliation with deep hydration and has no real downtime, it’s a gentler option than the other two treatments here, making it a good starting point for anyone new to professional body skincare or looking for a pre-event glow.

Best suited to: dehydrated, congested or lacklustre body skin where downtime isn’t an option.

Morpheus8 for Body

Morpheus8 is a radiofrequency microneedling treatment that works at a deeper level than either of the treatments above. The body handpiece can reach depths of up to 7 to 8mm, well beyond the reticular dermis, allowing it to remodel collagen and tighten tissue rather than simply resurface the skin’s surface layer.

This depth is what makes Morpheus8 for body suitable for concerns that peels and facials can’t reach: skin laxity, crepiness, and the appearance of stretch marks. A clinical study of postpartum women with abdominal skin laxity found meaningful improvements in skin elasticity and firmness following a course of microneedling radiofrequency treatment, alongside high patient satisfaction, as published in the Journal of Cosmetic and Laser Therapy. A broader scoping review has similarly found strong supporting evidence for radiofrequency microneedling across skin laxity, acne scarring and striae, as reported in JMIR Dermatology.

Best suited to: skin laxity, crepiness, stretch marks, and body areas where firming rather than resurfacing is the goal.

Many clients combine treatments across a season, for example, using HydraFacial Body for maintenance and a course of Morpheus8 for deeper concerns. Your practitioner can advise on the right combination and sequencing during your consultation.

FAQs

Can I combine these treatments? Yes. Because they work at different depths, a combination approach is often recommended, though your practitioner will space sessions appropriately based on your skin’s response.

Is there any downtime? HydraFacial Body has no downtime. Green Peel for Back involves visible peeling over several days. Morpheus8 for Body typically causes redness and mild swelling for a few days, similar to sunburn.

How many sessions will I need? This varies by treatment and by individual skin concern. Green Peel and HydraFacial are often used as a single session or short course, while Morpheus8 typically requires a series of sessions spaced several weeks apart for optimal collagen remodelling.

Are these treatments suitable for all skin tones? All three treatments are generally suitable across skin tones, though your practitioner will assess your individual skin type and medical history during consultation to confirm suitability.
